SAFETY RULES

TO BE OBSERVED BY USERS PRACTICING WINTER SPORTS, PASSENGERS IN BOARDING AND DISEMBARKING ZONES, ALONG SKI TOW ROUTES AND SKI SLOPES WITHIN THE TERRITORY OF THE “MALIovITSA” SKI ZONE

USERS PRACTICING WINTER SPORTS WITHIN THE TERRITORY OF THE “MALIovITSA” SKI ZONE MUST:

adjust their speed and manner of movement to their abilities, terrain characteristics, snow cover, weather conditions and slope traffic, and not endanger or obstruct other skiers and snowboarders; maintain full control of their skis or snowboard so that they are able to change direction or stop when necessary
reduce speed in areas with poor visibility, near constructions or obstacles, at intersections, at forks, in fog, in crowded sections, in narrow areas, or in the presence of beginners
be responsible not only for their behavior on the slope but also for the proper condition of the equipment they use; this also applies when using unconventional equipment (modified, prototype, etc.)
comply with the following rules of movement on the slopes:
a) persons in front have the right of way; persons coming from behind must not endanger those ahead and must keep an appropriate distance
b) when overtaking, the overtaking person must ensure sufficient space for any deliberate or involuntary movement of the person being overtaken; the overtaker is fully responsible for completing the maneuver safely, including when passing stationary skiers or snowboarders
c) stopping in narrow sections of the slope or in areas with reduced visibility is allowed only when strictly necessary; the stopped person must move off as soon as possible; rejoining the slope must be done safely, without risk of collision
d) after a fall, the slope must be cleared as quickly as possible
e) at intersections, right-of-way belongs to those approaching from the right
f) moving in the opposite direction, as well as climbing or descending on foot without skis or snowboard, must be done at the side of the ski slope
follow all signage and markings and use slopes appropriate to their technical and physical abilities
give right of way to slope and rescue personnel and designated vehicles, and in no way obstruct their movement
in the event of an accident, secure the injured party and immediately notify rescue services at phone 1470 or 112

PASSENGERS IN BOARDING AND DISEMBARKING ZONES, ALONG SKI TOW ROUTES WITHIN THE TERRITORY OF THE “MALIovITSA” SKI ZONE:

Passengers must follow the instructions of the service personnel and observe the directional, informational, and prohibition signs in the boarding and disembarking zones and along the cable route
When boarding, remove your poles from both hands and hold them in one hand only. Grip the tow bar with your free hand
Assume the ready/waiting position, observe the movement of the lift and follow the staff’s instructions
The staff member servicing the line will assist you with attaching to the lift
Do not deviate from the path of the route
Do not sit on the disc and do not place your full body weight on it. Maintain a balanced, upright posture
Every passenger must not endanger or obstruct themselves, other passengers, or the service staff through their behavior or use of the lift
Persons who are visibly intoxicated and/or visibly under the influence of narcotics or potent medication, whose condition or behavior poses a threat to the safety of others or to the lift, are not allowed to use the lift
Transporting children under 1.25 m in height is not allowed
Leaving unattended luggage in or around the areas of the towers, the movement line, and the lift stations is not allowed
Smoking, alcohol consumption, and/or use of substances affecting mental state are strictly prohibited during transport
Detaching from the lift before reaching the end station is prohibited, except in cases where doing so is necessary for the person’s own safety or that of others
After detaching from the lift, immediately clear the movement line or disembarking platform
Failure to comply with the safety rules will result in sanctions in accordance with Bulgarian law!
