Snowshoe Hikes
For those who prefer quieter adventures, the resort offers snowshoe routes to Strashnoto Lake, Elenino Lake, and the foothills of Mt. Malyovitsa. With a guide or on your own, it’s a perfect way to experience winter Rila in its pure and wild beauty.
Winter Mountaineering
Malyovitsa is the birthplace of Bulgarian mountaineering. The winter season attracts climbers and hikers from all over Bulgaria who seek a challenge and an authentic experience along snowy ridges and rock faces.
There are routes of varying difficulty, as well as safety and technique training.
Kids’ Sledding
For all sledding enthusiasts, we offer a sledding and tubing slope. The slope starts from the upper parking lot of Hotel Malyovitsa and reaches Mecha Polyana. There is also a moving walkway* serving the slope. For younger snow lovers, a sledding slope has been built in front of Hotel Alpinist. At Mecha Polyana, you will also find a children’s carousel.
Note: the pass for the moving walkways is purchased separately from the ticket office.
